The Trans-Femoral Rotator (TFR) from Hosmer is a welcome addition to any above-knee prosthesis. It allows the amputee to rotate the shin section of the prosthesis relative to the socket, making entry and exit of tight spaces, such as automobiles, much easier.

  • Proximal trans-femoral amputation with limited mobility

  • TFR should be in the locked position before ambulation to prevent inadvertent motion
  • Any play within the TFR should be reported to the prosthetist by the patient
